I thought about this, being my middle aged self, and wanted to have a record of those guitarist heroes I have had the good fortune to see live. Then, I could check back periodically and (hopefully) update it.

The players I've seen (in no order, they all are at the pinnacle in my view of Mt. Olympus!):

Chet Atkins
Jimmy Page
Eric Clapton
Joe Walsh
Jeff Beck
David Gilmour
Larry Carlton
Pat Metheny
Wayne Krantz
Robben Ford
Andy Summers
Billy Gibbons
Steve Howe
Frank Gambale
Al DiMeola
Buzzy Feiten
Drew Zingg
Will Ray
Johnny Hiland
Jeff Tamalier
Martin Barre
JohnnyA
Derek Trucks
Tomo Fujita
Larry McCray

Those I have yet to see:

John McLaughlin
Jimmy Herring
Steve Khan
Bireli Lagrene
Mike Miller
Steve Lukather
Mike Landau
Carlos Rios
John Scofield
Scott Henderson
Tuck Andress
Charlie Hunter
George Benson
Brent Mason
The Hellecasters (at their reunion gig!)
Mark Knopfler

(fingers crossed I get to see some of these from above!)

Stanley Clarke - might have been just bass, but awesome show!!

Going to see Bonamassa in around 3 weeks,so he will be the next guy off my list.

I've seen just about everyone. The ones I haven't seen I can't see as they are no longer with us. Among the living ones I haven't seen are Bonamassa and I would really love to see him.

I've been extremely lucky.. I've seen almost everyone I've ever wanted to and some I didn't care about :hide

comes from being old enough to have gone to the Newport Jazz and Blues Fest and the first and several afterward Ann Arbor Blues.

Been fortunate to see a high percentage of my faves/influences (some at the top of their game, some not), save for those that have passed away (this would sadly be a long list).

I've seen everyone I could imagine seeing....

Not really a guitarist [though he plays guitar just fine] but there was a time when I thought I might not ever see Leon Russell, but I was able to. (he actually tours a lot these days)

I never got to see Herb Ellis.

I have most of them covered, I lucked out to see SRV, and missed Randy Rhoads and Jimi Hendrix due to age limits! Only Clapton really remains. Would have been nice to see The Who with Entwhistle. OP you really got me thinking about the blues guys, not gonna be around forever! I saw BB King on a taping of Married With Children instead of a concert, does that count?

Instead of listing all the ones I've seen, I'll just list the ones I haven't seen but want to before I (or they) pass on:

David Gilmour
Eric Johnson
Paul McCartney
