I remember not too long ago the Ernie Ball String packs would have on the back a bunch of artists names and then say "..... use Ernie Ball Strings. They've changed the backside. Now it just says "Join the legacy," Did they get sued? Cause I remember a few artists names who I know for a fact did not use Ernie Ball strings.

The list is still on the back of Cobalts, as well as on the envelopes inside. Those are the only EB strings I'll use though, so I don't know about the other strings.

Yes, I meant the artists names are still on the back. But instead of "use Ernie ball strings," it just says, "join the legacy."

Mmmmm, maybe they hired someone new who suggested a packaging redesign?

Mine still say "use Ernie Ball strings", both on the back of the pack and on the individual envelopes inside though.

"Join the legacy," of people who have previously used Ernie Ball Strings?.

I think D'Addario now makes the EB strings, along with the Gibson and Fender current string lines. Probably the reason for any changes in the packaging and anything else.

So, nothing happened to the strings then? That's good. Can't really say I ever once noticed the packaging beyond what was required to select the correct gauge.

Just thought maybe someone called them out on using their name without their permission. I remember I was reading the back of the pack and thinking, I don't think some of these guitar players use Ernie Ball.

I used to have an EB string endorsement in the late 1990's. They changed the packaging every six months (or so) because the artist roster changed a lot. This was back when strings came in a plastic pouch with the "artist" label just being a paper insert. With longer lasting packaging these days, it might make sense to change the messaging to something that wouldn't;t really change.

    Just talking about me, though.
