I myself do not like non-subtle uses of chorus. I don’t mean a particular pedal like the Corona; I just mean chori in general.

Used to hate flanging because I did not understand flanging and now I love flanging.

ring modulation, however, can go suck it.

I have never liked chorus unless it was used at grotesque settings. Other than that, I pretty much love it all, even stuff I don't use. I used to not understand or appreciate fuzz, but then my testicles dropped, now I love it.

I've recently bought an MXR carbon copy. Having spent a while with the modulation width and speed, I've got it where I want it. Against the dry playing there is a lovely subtle chorus effect. I now cannot stand my other chorus pedals haha. So OP: I agree.

If I never hear phaser again, I’ll be happy.

Effects only suck if you don’t know how to use them. When I was young, I only liked distortion. Now I can make most effects sound musical. Don’t mean that in an arrogant way, it’s just that every effect has its place if you play it ‘right’ IMO.

Tremolo makes me nauseous, so there's that...
    :barf

For the longest time I didn't understand ring mods. But there's octave fuzzes I like and they sound suspiciously similar to ring mod, so I may need to reevaluate my standing.

A little bit of auto wah goes a long way. And I do mean *very little*.

Also not a fan of spitty, gating, open circuit fuzzes.

+1. I'm trying to think of a answer to the thread question but every time I think I come up with something, I remember somebody that did something cool with it.

Well, hate is a pretty strong word, but:

    spitty, farty fuzz
    discoey, synthy phaser
    spikey, thin wah
fizzy, scooped out distortion with no dynamics
    clangy, hollow reverb
    Scholtz Rockman (sorry Tom)
    Tube Screamers

Oops! I think the OP was asking for just one. I don't know what came over me.
