I totally agree. Sounds like, "easy listening," to me.

His stuff usually has a nice combo of a bit of psychedelia, some tasty guitar and well written tunes. This sounded like it was made with a Casio keyboard.

Unfortunately, the new single is quite a disappointment for me:

I didn't like the new album at first either in comparison to his other stuff but after listening for awhile there's some really good stuff on it. Check out the title track 'rare birds'.
