Not necesarily an amp you owned, maybe you only played it once and in your mind "that is the sound" or maybe you were lucky enough to try a super rare amp that you love.

    which one is it?

No way I could even remotely narrow it down to just ONE.
I mean, I've played several that were the "best" for a specific application, yanno.
    Among those:
    1972 Marshall 50w lead
At least a few 5e3 deluxes
Randall RG80 that rivals most jcm800 I've played.
(not ALL Randalls, tho, just the one)
    1969 Marshall 100x Superbass
    50-something Tweed Super 2x10
Several very special sounding Twin Reverbs in/out of my life
    ^^^^
Same with JCM800s...a few very special ones.
Valco....several really great ones among the many I've either owned or played.(supro, national, Valco, etc)
AND ......let's NOT forget my 90s rack rig which in it's final version was simply mind blowing!

So, yeah...it just depends on the application, at least for me. I've owned and played a LOT of amps, probably more than most people ever get to.
Every once in a while ya' happen to come across one (of the same model you've tried a million of) that for some reason is extra special.

That's how I see it anyway

Actually two, and it was back in 1979-1980 when I tried them out.

A 1978 Marshall 2204 head (Canadian export version with toggle switches and EL34 tubes) connected to a mid 1970s Marshall 412 cabinet with Celestion black back speakers. That amp was really heavy on the midrange - it honked.

Music Man 212 Sixty Five combo with EL34 tubes. That amp had a fair amount of middle too, but it was the overdrive that I liked most - smoother yet meaner sounding than the Marshall. It would have sounded even better if it had Celestion speakers.

I played a 1974 SF Twin with 5881s.. great squishy clean feel..
Probably power amp sag.... i wish I knew what speakers were in it.

I am exceedingly happy with my slate of amps. I consider my five main amp tones all in the 9+/10 range. They are nothing particularly boutiquey, except my Reinhardt LT1.

In my mind, an amp is like a guitar.. if it isn't setup right it falls far short of its potential. ( rg. Tubes and speakers.)

There are very few speakers that mpress me, but finally had a few successes and am starting to accumulate a few top calibre speakers to make an amp cross over into the amazing category.

50s Fender Pro Reverb (refurbished) that was in Wunjo Guitar Shop on Denmark Street, London back in 2007. I should have bought it instead of the Brandoni NOS Vox (Eko) Phantom 12 string I purchased and still have.

VHT 2150 I was lent back in 1995...it's just a power amp, but my lord did it sound awesome. I gigged with it around San Francisco 25 years ago...I'd love to get another.

My Carol Ann Triptik 2. No tone I can’t do. My playing doesn’t do it justice.

I have a K&M Custom 50 w/loop (#28), that is my amp of choice with a Les Paul. I have a Kit plexi 1987 50 watter (gone over by Mark Kane) that is great with single coils, too.
