    I always liked Zzyzx Rd. out by Bakersfield as I recall.

    I have a one in a billion last name. There is a street with my name on it in the same county I live in.

    There is a Lois Lane not too far from me. I don't think any Superman reference was intended as the is also a Lory Lane and Martha Lane in the same development. There is also a Presley Rd. nearby with an Elvis Lane off Presley Rd.

    Close. It's off I-15 out by Baker, CA which is near the border with Nevada and about 100 miles southwest of Las Vegas. Bakersfield is in the Central Valley cut in half by Highway 99 with I-5 to the west and about 100 miles due north of Los Angeles.

    That's right. It's been a long time and psychedelics were involved. :cool:

    Around here we have "Evidence Cove Dr", that leads to Lake Travis.

    To be honest, I'm a little afraid to follow it to the end.

    Here's a little more history through Huell Howser in relation to Zzyzx.

    I think he had a house out there as well as homes in Palm Springs and LA. It's really in the middle of nowhere. <edit> Nope, it's out by Twentynine Palms. Not that close...

    It can be used in this way, but I'd hardly call the usage common. In fact, I haven't heard it used in that manner for years. It's far more frequently used to describe an obnoxious person. Maybe Melbourne just has a lot of obnoxious people.

    There is also a place in England called The Peak Cavern, aka The Devil's Arse.

    Not a street sign but there's a booze store in Calgary called the "Liquor Box".

    Not a street name but I saw a 26 mph speed limit sign yesterday. Alabama is weird.

    The one here's still called Grope Lane. More an alleyway really;

    [IMG]

    A convenient shortcut to work that I traverse most days. Weirdly, we were taken on a history tour of town when at school. The teacher took us there and told us some tale about it being called that because it was narrow enough for people to shake hands out of the opposing windows... You have to wonder why he bothered at all and didn't just miss the place out!

    There was also a street nearby called Cokayne Green, which always made us chuckle. After protestations by the locals, it was renamed to something else.

    Honorary mentions for places (though not streets) I've ambled through; Beer, and Lickey End.

    They also sell skimpy women's g-strings with the store name on the front. Ya, I bought her a pair. Also ya - never worn. Lololol.
