What is your favorite el84 amp?

I know a bunch of us are el84 -aholics on this site. So I thought it would be fun to ask what is your favorite el84 based amp - price and dreams are no limit!

I'll start with the obvious - a functioning, properly working JMI Vox AC30 combo is probably my favorite el84 tone. I look forward to your responses

One of the Fargen Faithful here—I love my Epic 30 DC!

If I had to pick one of the list it would have to be the original...the AC30.

I also have great feelings about the original Matchless stuff.

But I still think my Bogner Metropolis is an underrated and underappreciated EL84 MONSTER...so let them cable boys sue me.

I feel that way about the Z maz18 nr. inho eat's many fav/popular
new EL84 amps, I have heard, go''s to media great. (like all Z's)
always will love my first AC-30 best, my DC-30's. VDG

Ditto. Love my Epic 30 DC to death. Not only does it get great vintage AC-30 tones, I can nail early Marshall JTM-45 tones, perfect for classic rock.

That said, I would love to play a JMI-era Vox AC-30. I've played some older Vox amps, but not as vintage as the JMI stuff.

You could be right...but an AC30 with 4 inputs and the EF86 front end - a rare thing indeed!

Nigel. It is rare, and sounds killer. Nothing like the ef 86 to kick it up a notch in the gain department. I do feel the top boost are chimier, bit they dont rock like the 4 input model. We are all blessed to have such great gear. I love my amp, and gave up a ton of gear for it. Fortunately for me, it has not disapointed me.
