for mic'ing up a guitar amp for recording? Just trying to see what I might be missing out on. Alos please list what you like about it.

I currently just have 3 dynamic mics, SM57, A Sanheiser E609, and an audio technica.

Just curious what you guys use and if you like condensers better for mic'ing amps.

I have the Sennheiser E906, which is like the E609 but it has a switch for adjusting lows or highs if needed. Great mic for the price and easy to use, like the E609: you can just "drape" it over the amp.

In the studio I'll always combine a dynamic with a condenser. At home, it's a Shure Beta 57A and a Rode NT1A.

Live, I'll just use the dynamic.

I've used an sm57 for years, but don't know if I'm completely satisfied with the results. I may move to to an E609.
