What keys does EJ usually play in?

    To me it seems like variants of A major, G major, and E minor pentatonic scales. But I'm theory illiterate.

    Eric Johnson's Manhattan in Eb minor, but his guitar is not tuned down.

    I think EJ plays in whatever key amuses him which seems to be all of them. The man can do whatever he wants with a guitar.

    Very interesting. Thanks. I guess I zoned into certain songs and made assumptions based on those.

    Sounds like F minor, but maybe the recording was sped up some before mastering, but after they had the final cut.

    And keep in mind that, given EJ's polytonal approach to stacking pentatonics, one long line can travel through several key centers.
