What OD/Dist pedals really like tweed?

Maybe this subject has come up before, but searches turned up nada. I really want a new OD or Distortion pedal solely to take my Vicky 35310 (5E7 Bandmaster clone) up a notch or two. I tried the TIM and while it sounds wonderful, it really seems to like my EL34 and EL84 amps more. So what say you "tweed-heads?" I've heard good things about so many pedals, my head is spinning, and I don't live close to anywhere where I can hear them - but I do respect the ears of page members! Your wisdom is greatly appreciated.

i have a 30 watt tweed amps and i find that my super duper and sometimes a super chilli picoso just push the amp into new territory. however nothing beats a tube screamer or a tuber screamer clone (the dubtronics tube screamin and tubescreamin + are so much better then anything) google those are you will find a great pedal

Depends on the ultimate amount of gain you seek, but the Honey Bee does great things with a tweed amp.

I'm using the Barber Silver LTD and Baber Direct Drive into a 59 Bassman RI and both sound great with that type of amp!

My vicky 5112 loves the Klon... really fattens up the tone and brings out additional harmonics. The honeybee also works very well with this amp.

The Keeley modded Blues Driver is a perfect match for my 5E3 Deluxe. For me, this amp and pedal are pretty much inseperable. I haven't tried the Keeley BD2 with a 5E7 type amp but I'd be surprised if it wasn't a great combination.

Mojohand: I've got the Tyger, Michael Clark's version of the bandmaster. The Klon works really well with it, especially sweet at lower volumes. It's just more of what's already in the amp, not something artificial or extra, as long as you keep the gain settings low. A beautiful sound. Addictive! As fine as the Klon is, I'm actually perferring the Clark Gainster lately. The Gainster has a more subtle boost than the Klon at lower levels. Where it really impresses is at higher volumes, with some gain dialed in. Once again, subtle. Hard to describe, but it perfectly complements the natural voicing of the amp itself. The strat benefits most from pedals. The previous owner used the Zvex SHO for that same purpose. Based on his recommendation, I want to try that one too.

Hey Duckbunny,
I've got a 3x10 Victoria Sovereign combo. I absolutely love the Z Vex SD2in1 with it. Fantastic break up. I do run EL34's in the amp. I'd definitely recommonend checking one out if you get the chance. The 2in1 makes my other pedals sound better to boot.
Happy hunting!
