Mythical Overdrive either Vintage Spec or the standard, I love them both for different reasons.....

It's amazing how there doesn't seem to be a clear winner here. Everyone likes something different.

This past weekend, backing up a singer/pianist, I used my Tweed ‘57 between my 335 and my Fender Princeton loaded with a 12” Cannabis Rex speaker. I also had an Overrated Special for extra burn, but I found just working my volume with the ‘57 gave me everything I needed for solos.

+1000, I slapped an ET65 into my Princeton that previously had the P12Q in, and now it's like every drive pedal in the world is absolutely wonderful.

I could only stand an SD1/808 or RAT previously, and it was still all fizzy.

I'm using a Box of Rock for very very low gain with very gross fuzzes on top, or a Lovepedal Jubilee for traditional Marshall noises.

Depends on what you're trying to do, but for that edge of distortion kinda thing I love the Snouse BlackBox. I use it almost like a Klon to boost and add a little grit to my tone. Perfectly voiced for blackface amps IMHO.

I'm not surprised at all. In this day and age there are a zillion different pedal combos that can get you a pretty decent sound, and with a BF Fender you already have a solid base to work with.

If the thread was about what pedal to pair with a Gorilla amp or some random 20+ year old Peavy or Crate solid state amp the selections would be way more fraught with risk!

I have two small and one large pedal board (for different things)

Each has an always on clean drive to slam the preamp... all are Klon clones.

Each has an additional boost and an overdrive that are stacked.

    King (or prince) of tone
    Earth drive
    Zen drive

I run the guitar volume at about 4-6, with room to push it if I want things dirtier. I’m playing with a volume pedal in the mix to see if that works... but so far it’s not as precise as the guitar’s volume knob. That’s likely a skill thing.

I rarely use full on distortion and I don’t own a fuzz pedal.

i run into the vibrato channel w/ the bright cap on for clean tone & then add on the origin effects revival drive for fendery or marshall-ish dirt. I treat the revival drive just like you would either amp and push it with a tube screamer, klon, fuzz face, octavia & tone bender.

    Fender concert reverb( 4x10)

    Barber Direct Drive v3
    Sparkle Dr - Voodoo lab
    Barber Small Fry
    Original Zen Dr

All match well with probably any Fender amp
