What speaker for my Traynor YCV40WR

Hi Everyone -

I mostly like my Traynor YCV40. I don't like the tinny vintage 30. When I bought it off ebay, the seller recommended that I keep the Eminence Texas Heat that he had in there. I regret not having done that, but I played one in a store and liked the Vintage 30 at that time.

I have heard some Fuchs demos and I understand that they have the Eminence RWB. candh from this forum has put a RWB in his YCV40, and I know of someone on another forum who did the same thing. Both have said that it improved the amps tremendously.

Anyone have any other ideas? I think taking it in the direction of a American speaker is the right one.

I have the same amp, and am thinking about a speaker change myself. I've heard a lot of people going with the RW&B ( I tried on in my YCV20 and it was ok) I am thinking about trying the Swamp Thang in mine.

I've been listening to the sound clips, and I may go with the Crex....

The RWB may be a bit too dark in terms of shaved off highs.

CRex is a great speaker for Traynor. If you dont want shaved off highs, you might like the Tonker, Swamp Thang tends ot be darker than Tonker.

I haven't met an amp yet that sounds bad with a Tone Tubby or an EV.

Is the Crex the Eminence version of the Tone Tubby?
