1. The Gear Page is run by musicians for musicians. We listen, we learn and if we misstep we are not afraid to do the right thing. We proposed some changes to the Emporiums. Based on feedback from members, we have decided to not go ahead with those changes. However, it has also highlighted that we need some community input into what is working and what is not working for members here. Primarily focused on the Emporiums, we'd like input on your thoughts about TGP and how things work in the Emporiums for you and how you'd improve them. The discussion thread on the is here!

I just bought a Hamer Artist and the strings are shot and I want to replace them. Anyone know what brand and gauge they ship with? I typically use D'addario 10s on a 23.75" scale guitar, but they feel lighter, but not light enough to be 9s. I might guess they're 9.5s but I don't know... anyone know for sure?

Your Hamer Artist has a 23.75" scale?

Your guitar now comes with D'Addario 10's. Back in the 90's they were set up with 9's of the same brand.

If you are not sure just measure them with a micrometer.

I actually have a couple of packs of Hamer branded strings....somewhere! I have no idea who actually made them though...
