This thread is about former Soviet Block Nations and any other Europeian Nations plus the Chinnese stuff. Thats all.

I just want to have a list of who makes what where under what names and brand names. I havent seen a good source for this info.

For instance Sovtek and EH are maybe the same thing or not and New Sensor and all the Jazz.

I'd just like to see a list calling out all the different manufacturers and the ones that are really the same but just under a different name. I'm interested in all the current Manufacturers but dont want to get into a GT debate. There are many differing opinions on what they do or dont do and just dont want to go there for this thread please.

I'd like to see the brand names the corperate manufacturing names and the actuall location of manufacture. Basicly the hole ball of wax.

You're not going to find a list.
Google the manufacturers like I said earlier.

    Let's see ...
    Ei - Yugoslavia
    Shuguag/Sino - China
Sovtek - Mother Russia (Branded by people like Mesa .. Ruby)
    Electro Harmonix - Mother Russia
(and mind you Sovtek <> EH)
Svetlana - another Mother Russia (still being produced in China as well?)
The New Mullard .. Russia (where EH is made)
I believe there might or have been some sort of Mullard production in Japan?
JJ / Tesla - Now in Slovakia
Groove Tubes - Mainly from China (although I believe GT does some work on them in the US after they come in?)

oh well that is what comes to mind, I think GT has some stuff come from Russia as well

No such list exists because any company can rebrand another company's tubes at any time. There's absolutely no rules or generalizations anyone can make about this or any motivation for anyone to publish such a list. When was the last time you did some pro bono work and published it for the web community?:p

Here's are short list of stuff which most people already know about:
JJ- Czech Republic (or whatever they call themselves these days)
EH- Russian distributed by New Sensor
Sovtek- Russian distributed by New Sensor
Chinese- One manufacturer (never marked on the tubes) distributed by Ruby, GT, TAD, etc, etc
    EI- Yugoslavia

Many of these come stock in new amplifiers, often rebranded as GT or with the name of the amp manufacturer, and sometimes with no markings at all.

Don't you hate it when you're trying to figure out how to spell a word and someone says, "Look it up in the dictionary!"?

"If I knew how to spell it, I could look it up, eh?"

    Taller now thats funny.:D

Well now we are getting somewhere.

Question Why cant we come up with a somewhat bonafied list right here?

So lets see if I have any of this right.

    Reflector Corp

Manufacturer of = EH, Sovtek, New Mullard, Svetlana, New Tung Sol, (anything from New Sensor). Located in Saratov Russia.

    JJ/ Tesla = Slovakia

    EI = Yugoslavia

Shugaung = GT, Ruby, Tad, Valve Art, Golden Dragon, ...

    Japan = ?

SED Winged C = St. Petersburgh Russia.

So right now there are maybe five manufacturers world wide?

Looks to me like SED has been taking it in the shorts lately.

As I think I saw it Reflektor is now owned by New Sensor?

SED has had to rebrand its brand name and is now having trouble getting Glass raw materials?

Anyone care to chime in on this?

I'm updating the list as we go.

For those who want to shed more light on this please do.

    Thanx r9.

The GT KT66HP also came from the Reflektor plant, it is my understanding that AP owned some of that facility (not sure if that is still the case or not). The GTKT66HP was distributed soley by GT in the states. I'd wager the majority of GT tubes come from Reflektor.

The Mullard name and trademark have been acquired by the New Sensor Corporation. This new production Mullard tube is manufactured at their Xpo-Pul factory (also known as Reflektor) in Saratov, Russia. New Sensor is an American corporation and since taking ownership of this factory has been steadily improving the quality of current production tubes.
