I have a Marshall 2555SL (slash model), that needs new tubes.

    I've put new 12ax7 and I like Tung-Sol in V1 and JJ in V2 & V3

What do you use in your jubes? (preamp and power tubes)

I'm running Sylvania 12AX7s in the preamp, and Winged C/SED EL34s. Siemens are also HIGHLY recommended!

I have SED EL34's in my Marshall 2553. The preamp I have a mixture of Ei elite and GE 12AX7's as I remember, I know the EI is in the phase inverter spot...

I like (Ruby) EL34B-STR or EH 6CA7 in the power section. They seem to tighten up the bass in a good way!

SED EL34 are somewhat the "standard" setup I think, allthough they seem to be too neutral to me. EH EL34 are nice for an earlier breakup, esp. if you bias them on the hotter side.

Preamp... dunno, still no "magic combination" found. I like the Tesla ECC83 (should be similar to the JJ) in V1, for the other spots I use EH or Chinese 9th gen. 12AX7. I'd love to try out an Ei in V1, but the one I bought was microphonic... bummer.

I ran EHs all the way through, they gave me what I was after.

I also like the =C= SED EL34s.....I have a Sovtek LPS in V1, EH 12AX7 V2, and a JJ 12AX7 V3. sounds good to my ears.

I've used JJ EL34Ls in mine before. More sub bass, brighter top. Great for the practice room, scooped and burried live. That's why I like Winged Cs and JJ 12AX7s. Thicker low mids makes me hear it better live.

Yes, see my comment above :) I like 'em very much, and I think I only read positive comments about them too here.

Just put in a quad of matched Ruby EL34BSTR's and, WOW, I love them so far! Lots of dynamics and mojo. Still burning them in, but they make me smile. I like them better than the JJ's and still deciding between the SED =C='s. Next up, KT77s.
