I need to pickup a volume pot for a single pickup P-90 guitar. The previous pot is shot with old solder so I can't tell the value. Anyone?

i vote 500k. even though it's a single coil, the P-90 is dark and fat enough to benefit fom the clarity of 500k pots. be sure to get audio taper.

I replaced the stock 300k pots in my Les Paul 60s tribute with 500k ones. It made a huge improvement to the feel, tone and response of the pickups.

The Lollar P90 on my Jr sounds great with a 250K volume and 500K tone. Most people will recommend 500K volume. For me it was too much.

250, 300 or 500K are all used regularly.

Really depends on the guitar, pickup, cap used & your preference... I like 500K normally, but 250K when I don't have a tone knob (volume only).

Not sure why Gibson ever used 300K...
