Since my wife works in the industry I get just about anything I want at dealer cost or below but some that stand out are:

1986 Hamer USA Chappy for $250 shortscale, with OBL's and boomers
1987 Hamer USA Chappy for $300 Both are set neck
Fender blues jr for $125

The '86 Chap was bought from a friend that wanted an N4.
The other two were trade in's at the store my wife used to work at.

Hand selected Peavey Wolfgang ST for $850 new directly from Peavey. Got to thank Hartley personally for that one.
Soldano Astroverb head directly from soldano for $700.
Fender 50th ann american series strat for $650 directly from Fender. They have or had the best dealer employee program.

Blackface Princeton found in the dump when I was dropping off some trash. Had 1 broken power tube. Replaced the tube and it fired right up - Free is better than cheap anyday!

Recently bought a 2007 AVRI Jaguar for $800. A few years back we hired a service tech that had previously worked at Fender prior to joining my place of employment. He told me about an annual sale that fender had for employees, where they would sell dealer returns, b-stock, cosmetic defects. MIM standards for $40, MIA for $150. Insane deals on amps too. Employees would just load up on stuff for friends, family and potential resell. I'm not sure if this still goes on, but it had to be better than xmas.

As the result of a package deal that I did via Craigslist, I ended up with a 2002 AmSeries Fender Stratocaster for $170.

On a percentage basis, hmm, probably $300 for a custom shop (prototype for the CETH1) Schecter. A couple of BCRs in the 90s that I bought for $300 and sold for $1200. A 59 Bassman for around $1200 (which I then traded for an early Matchless, idiot!). Horsie Klon for $250. Way Huge Delay (NEVER going away) for $~200. Lot of cool deals over the years, just hard to remember them all. Also met a lot of cool people, which is probably better than making a profit or getting a keeper cheap...
