Mine's the thorn artisan standard 018. 16 years and still rules. Came with Rio grande P90s but I love these Duncan SM3.

What was your first and or only?

1997 Tom Anderson Drop Top. I’ve discovered other luthiers over the years, but Anderson has always retained its spot among my favourite guitar builds. And with the prices of so many companies raising their pricing (especially the Fenders & Gibsons of the world), Andersons remain a relative bargain for the quality and consistency they offer.

Mine was a 2013 NAMM guitar. Nik Huber Orca ‘59. Got to play it at the show and instantly fell in love with it. I put it on layaway a couple of days later.

Seven years later, it still is my number one guitar:

Custom Rob Allen MB2 with magnetic pickups and a piezo. Sold it about a year ago because I later ordered a 6 string version and didn't need both.

2003 Thorn AM22. Had the completed instrument a total of 1 week before another call to CA speccing out a second. Still the finest sounding guitars I’ve ever owned. And I used to go through guitars like poop thru a goose. :crazy

First custom build was a Melancon - great guitar with the mojo. It was sad to hear of gerard’s passing because he was such a gem of a man. Thankfully he is in a better place now though.

I recently obtained a Forshage Neo from Chris - another stellar instrument to scratch the Hollowbody itch.

Was a Nash S type circa 2005 when Bill was working more individually to customer request. Yep, I know he was using pre machined parts, but at least I was able to buy from him a big neck slab board Strat with a BR in Sonic Blue plus deep body cutaway at well under half the price of a Fender Custom Shop build.

Man, I lucked out. My first real boutique instrument was a Gil Yaron Les Paul, liked it so much I immediately ordered a 335 as well. Lifer guitars.
