I'm an old timerplaying again after decades. My last amp was a dual showman i had. I s a 30 watt solid state good for moderately small venues with clean sound. What speaker size?

Should work. I Don't know where you live, but gigging volume here is getting very low.

Around here a Princeton Reverb is all you need for cleans in some places these days.
But it really depends where you're playing!

For a club, 50 watts and one or two 12’s works for me.

For bars, maybe half that, but my 50w has a good mv, so I use it in bars, too, depending on who I’m playing with.

Whatever's loud enough to hang with a drummer and sounds good to you. Nothing else really matters.

That's about the size of it. Depends also on how you like to get your grind. If pedals are ok, A Fender cleans-type amp 15 - 30 watts will do it. Blues Jr.'s seem to be the ' in ' amp these days for what you're looking for - just be careful as to which version, I-IV.
