    For those of us who have maxed out the usage of our current 6 Stomp Blocks, what will you do with the extra 2 blocks we will get with the coming Update?

    I have been running Amp+Cab to conserve. Might add an IR or a dual Cab.

    Comp?

    EQ?

    More mod?

    Not buy an FM3. Not to start a poo storm, but that was a huge factor in looking at the FM3, was the block count. I needed 7 blocks at most: OD, amp, IR, mod, delay, reverb, LAComp. This will fit on my Temple Solo, along with an MC6mkII, powered by a CS6, and it's still smaller and lighter than an LT is. I will therefore quit my bitching about the lack of in between size. :D

    Isn’t this a 3.0 feature, meaning it probably won’t hit until much later in the year?

    Whatever I want. I don’t see how that’s any of your business!
    But dual IR’s, maybe EQ.

    I’m stoked mostly for split path stuff now I should be able to run (DSP permitting):

    Path 1 amp+Ir+delay+reverb
    Path 2 mod+delay+reverb
    Looper at end of chain

    I haven’t seen an official Line 6 Press Release on it, so not sure...
    @Digital Igloo ?

    It's a 2.9 feature.

    EDIT

    so as not to confuse people reading this later, I was wrong. It’s apparently coming later.

    If I understood correctly 8 blocks with 2.9 and a possible change to make send/returns not take a block in 3.0.

    I’m fine with 6, but I think they should up the Stomp to 8 blocks because:
    -All the competition coming out with modeling products.
    -Upping to 8 blocks won’t step on the foot of other Helix products or the new POD Go.
    -One of the biggest complaints you hear about the Stomp is, “I love the Stomp, but it only has 6 blocks.” With 8 blocks, I think you’ll hear more, “I love the Stomp.”

    8 blocks is 3.0. No one's said anything about the send/return thing; they will continue to use blocks.

    Can noise gate, EQ, volume, and amps not use a block as well? Maybe delay?
    I’m just kidding.
    8 blocks is killer.
    A combined amp/IR block would be cool though.

    If there isn't a plan to release something that's in between the Stomp and the LT, then 8 blocks makes a lot of sense. I'd also like to see the "Amp+IR" as an option for one block. That would really make me consider adding a Stomp as a foil to my big Axe 3 rig.

    Typically I would run a drive, amp, cab, chorus or pitch, delay, reverb. If I could add a compressor and a second amp into the mix that would be amazing.

    I apologize for my part in spreading the send/return rumor. I was just naively repeating what I'd heard elsewhere. Great news about the 8 blocks!

    I’ll probably use it to add dynamics and EQ, as I usually don’t use those in order to prioritize other stuff. If DPS permits, I’d like to go
    Dynamics -> Dual amps/IR’s -> Delay -> Reverb -> EQ.
    I have my overdrive in front of the Stomp.

    You would be processor-limited with the second amp. Heck, you drive, separate amp and cab, delay, reverb and mod you may be processor-limited to add a compressor.

    I hit a processor wall on Stomp, not a block wall. And 3 parameters per page, with page buttons not being adjacent to one another but instead having an encoder smack in between them, made simple stuff like balancing gain and level in an overdrive block annoying on the unit.
