What year did they become 'Historics'?

Anyone know what year Gibson labeled guitars "historic"?

Also, did some years not have the COA and were still labeled 'historic'?

Early 90's , like 94 I think. Changed to vintage authentic in 02, then vos in 04 , then changed recently again.

Oh, so my 2005 R8 isn't an Historic? I never saw anything that labelled it a VOS either.

Thanks. According to this info, VOS came to be in 2006. Makes sense because my '05 doesn't have the VOS finish which is more dull, I believe?
