I had an 04 reissue that had the barcode sticker serial number on the back, but recently bought another one that has a stamped serial number in the back. It looks like a 1989 model?

I am hoping this one will sound as good as my Ceriatone clone did....... that was a mistake letting that one go. :messedup

The year was 1989, you can tell by the letter "X" in the serial number, and the rounded radius on the cabinet front corners, in comparsion to the more square angle on the originals, and later in the reissue history.

I had number x00401, from this period, my favorite of all the reissues so far.

Thanks. This one I have coming is X00 .... but I can't make out the rest. That's good to know. I have an early metal panel Superlead reissue as well made in 1988. They did things a little different back then.

I picked up this '93 with matching cab back in November. Its been my flavor of the day for the past couple of weeks but my taste is constantly changing.

Is it true that the red ones have a little more color in the tone or are they just hotter?:)

I have an '89 JTM45 reissue with the rounded corners and 6L6s.
