im considering the Avatar oversized 2x12 but looking for more punch and bottom end.
so im thinking a 4x12 would be better, something loaded with G12H-30s.

The Mesa Recto 2x12 with two V30s has as much punch as a 4x12. At 75 pounds its just not too portable.

Marshall do a 4x12 in their handwired series, although it has greenbacks, its a killer cab, looks the muttz nutz too. Or have a look at Orange, if you can get over the gaudy looks, however, they do their stuff in black too.
I like the THD 2x12, but I do think in the UK its a bit pricy at £700. I may be wrong but the new supersonic cabs from Fender have vintage 30's in them, either as a 4x12 or 2x12, I wouldn't touch the amp with a bargepole though.

im really leaning towards a Splawn 4x12 slant cab unloaded, and just getting some Scumbacks or Webers.

    michael,

I personally love the orange tolex, and wish more amp builders would offer more than the standard black option. But you have to admit their a bit bright!!, my missus wont let me keep my orange stuff in the living room cos it clashes with the wall colour. (color...USA Spelling)

    $750 for brand new
more punch, more definition, more low-ends than mesa 2x12 I owned.
It's one of the best IMO.

I wouldn't get a Splawn 4x12 for the simple reason that they are not finger jointed.

You should just contact me directly, as I'm about to unload about 6 old Marshall 4x12's, and two reissue ones (80's or 90's, I think). And I have old Celestions, or Scumbacks to go with them.

As soon as my knee is good enough to move them around (sprained it three weeks ago), I'm going to take pics and unload them all. I have 11 4x12's currently, and I'm going to cut back to three, two slants & a straight.

Here's a pic of most of them, see anything you like?

anyone compared a germino 4x12 to a marshall HW 4x12? they're both the same price(germino w/ heritages) and i wanted to know if there are any tonal differences.
