Depends on how much you want to spend and if you are talking bedroom or band situation. There are tons of possibilities.

Marshall Plexi, Bassman even Vox are great. Plenty of higher end stuff. I am sure PV Classic 30, 50 as well.

I dig EL-84s with a Les Paul. I love my Carmen Ghia and AC30 through myLP's. Suprisingly though, I find one of the best matches I've ever heard with my Les Pauls is one of the USA made V30H head w/ matching cab by Crate (not made in US anymore though). An almost identical amp is the blonde Crate Palamino amps that you see around from time to time. It seriously blows me away how good it is with LP's.

We plugged a buddy's into another buddy's Mesa F30 not too long ago and was simply amazed at the tone.

I feel like I have heard that old Marshalls sound pretty good with Les Pauls. It may just be a rumor.

yea if youre looking for that AC/DC hard rock sound,....youll want to look at Marshall.

I didnt have the cash for the Marshall tube heads.....so I dove into the chinese made Bugera mixed with my Epi Les Paul.

Its a total Chinese made combination,....for about a quarter of the price,.....and only missing maybe a fraction of the sound....."Maybe"

So if youre looking to save a couple grand,....they make a 1990 head at 120 watts,....thats all Marshall tone.

Many will argue that its not possible,....but youd be surprised just how close it gets,....and its 450 bucks brand new.

I have had the 333xl for a while now,....and ive never heard any Marshall that did what this thing does....but in all fairness,....I dont think Marshall has tried to go that heavy.

    Good Luck in your search!!

Les Paul + JMP Marshall = great tone

It's no accident that a LOT of rock guitar players use this rig

If you wanted a rig that was easily transportable then 18 watt Marshall or Fender Blackface Deluxe both sound great with a LP.
