E-H Deluxe Memory Man is a fun one. Warm and, er, unique.
Are you speaking of the old Blue KMD analog delay? If so, I think that's the first time I've ever heard anyone recommend that pedal. I had one, and the tone knob effected the dry signal as well as the delays, even when the delay was OFF.
Here is an idea - get yourself an Ibanez Champ (I think it is called a DC 10??)
About $100 on eBay - analog - 300 ms delay - funky switch
They sound great, and are cheap. I am not into delay, but playing covers sometimes you have to have one (my band just decided to include the Flock of Seagulls song "I Ran" in our songlist, ..yuckkk).
This is a very functional (and great sounding) delay.
If you are really into delay, try something else (the switch sucks - often requires more than one stomp to turn it on or off). But if you need a delay just to do the job (and are not a big "Delay" guy), then this is a great choice.
I have an Ibanez delay champ, and it does a nice job. Switch is touchy. I have a Boss DM 2 and it stacks up well against it. I would suggest either one of these.
There's an Ibanez ADL delay on e bay right now. # 7370840299 for a 99.50 BIN price. Looks mint too!
According to Ibanez the same exact parts are being used on the AD9 reissue. I had an old one, just bought a reissue and I can't tell the difference.
Keeley Electronics sells a modded true bypass AD-9 for under $200
That's the one....
That can be fixed ..
