What's your idea on the perfect 5 pedal or less board? What are the 5 you'd just have to have?

wah-od-modulation-delay-tuner
I'm running:
mxr q zone (or wah)
mxr classic od
Micro Flanger
Carbon Copy
TU-2
Into a JCM 800 type amp for hard rock.
Weird that I now have an all mxr board for the most part, though I did pick up a bad horsie wah that sounds pretty good.

ive had myself on a limit of 5 pedals on a board for some time now. seems to me to be the magic number for not overdoing it.

1-wah (colorsound or teese wof for me)
2-mayer voodoo vibe
3-frantone peachfuzz
4-carl martin plexitone
5-sib mr echo

the above is what im putting together, though im not yet 100% on a fuzz (thinking of starting a collection and swapping them in and out).

Mine:

Vol - Wah - MIDI footswitch for the Intellifex in the rack - channel switcher for amp.

I could get away with just the MIDI switch if I needed to.

i would go with tuner-wah-fuzz-od-reverb (unless amp reverb is available, then probably delay)

so from my board of 14 pedals, that would be:
turbo tuner
vintage spec rippah q wah
mini-bone
blues pro or timmy
wet reverb (or boost DLA)

Just put one together for a jazzy gig on a PedalTrain Nano. I went with:

Tuner
Comp
OD
Chorus
Delay

My picks are:
Polytune
Block-era Dyna-Comp
BB Preamp
Malekko Chorus
DD-7 (Analog mode mostly)

Still thinking about using a headstock tuner and putting a phase or trem on there. I'll be playing a Strat into a DRRI or a JC-55, mostly clean tones.

Power is a PSA-120.

The Nano bag is really cool...

Well... not counting wah and tuner, I'd go with my board now:
1 modulation (Hardwire CR7)
1 analog delay (CC)
1 digital delay (DD7)
1 low gain OD/boost (stock BD2 that I may send to Keeley)
1 mid gain OD (v3 OCD)

This is pretty standard for me:

fuzz

mod
delay
tuner

which means:

GGG Ge Fuzz face
BYOC tubescreamer
Danelectro Cool Cat Chorus
MXR Carbon Copy
Pitch Black

OccTone ZMax Tone Console Dist/OD
OccTone Elmore Supreme Boost
Boss DD-20 or Hardwire DL-8
Boss TU-2 or Korg Pitchblack
Cover a ton of ground with this set-up;-)
