What's a small swampy, gritty, 1x12 combo to balance a clean amp in an A/B setup?

I'm looking for a 1x12 combo that is physically small (smallest footprint possible) as well as being low wattage (5-10 watts max) that has a great tremolo. It would be a part of a stereo setup with a Two Rock Studio Pro, which is a tiny 15" wide x 19" tall...so I'd like this other one to be comparably small and portable. It doesn't need to have much in the way of cleans...mostly just a gritty, rootsy, swampy vibe. The only two I can think of are an Xits X4 or the new Swart STR-Trem that is about to be released.

What else is out there? I'd prefer it not be in the blackface camp at all. Tweed, Vox, Brown, Supro, etc...would be more appropriate.

Have you considered a Marshall Class 5? You'd have to have a tremelo pedal.

I was going to say 5e3. Maybe a bit more wattage and no trem. But gritty.

5e3 with pedal. Some of the old Supro and Gretsch may fit the bill. Some of the old Gibsons as well.

Any specific ones to look for? I know very little about that corner of the amp world.

Silvertone 1482 and be done with it!

edit: I used to do the A/B rig with a Vibrolux and 1482 for the clean/swampy thing....

Vox AC4HW1 is coming out in the next few months. That or an AC15HW1 are great for all over great dirty tones and they clean up good too.

my first thought was Tweed too, but smaller than a 5E3 to insure lower volume grit.

    edit:
oh wait, i just listened to a youtube Silvertone demo and i like that suggestion more.

+1 on the Silvertone and 5e3, go with a ceramic speaker for a darker sound. The tremelo is a tough nut, not commonly installed these days, might be stuck on vintage (prices!) for that one.

I think a Swart would be perfect for this job. Check out the STR Tremolo that is going to be released shortly.

How about a CJ11 Divided by 13 ? Seems to fit the bill nicely.

Tweed champ like the Victoria 5112 would be pretty cool with a pedal and pretty inexpensive.

Does it need to be 5-10 watts if it has a killer master volume. The Goodsell super 17 or Valpreaux would fit the bill. Great verb, Trem, and a master volume.

the latest EC version of the Tweed Champ comes with bias trem - trem doesn't get more swampy than that - they also a tweed deluxe size amp with that same trem (it is standard on the entire series including the largest, 57twin variant) so you have a choice of tweed sizes and power levels - do a You Tube search to hear the demo's, there are several out there and they all sound well worth seeking out in person at a store to run them through the paces - since you mentioned a two-rock, the price point of the Clapton sig tweeds will not be a surprise. Hand wired in CA. too. With the EC tweed champ you get Layla and trem... tasty.

Swart. The Space tone reverb model has a 12 inch speaker. If you want the original space tone or atomic jr models, they have 8 inch speakers but I'm sure Michael swart would build a 12 inch combo for you.

No 65 Amps love? Lil Elvis or a Tupelo might just be the ticket.

I agree about the Silvertone 1482. Those are just killer amps. One of the best low volume amps I've owned and I've owned A LOT of them. Incredible value too.
