Here in the TC I love The Jones Gang. They're always at one or two of the local festivals the wife and I catch in the summer.

I love the name of the Shotgun Ragtime Band but haven't caught a set of theirs yet.

Here in Columbus it's been Dark Star Orchestra for a long time. Some others too.

Aside from DSO, we have a band here called Cubensis that has been together for around 30 years.

I don't think here is in in Oklahoma. I would happily play rhythm or lead for a startup.

Some local guys, I always loved this band name. I used to see the sticker on the car in my neighborhood and always chuckled.

We had one called Juggling Suns... not strictly Dead covers but they did the Dead tunes well. Lead guitar was derided by some as a Jerry wannabe right down go his clothes and mannerisms on stage. Good player imo, but I don't like hearing signature tones when they ain't your signature. Rather hear a fresh/different take than a mimicry. ymmv.

Oh, and another iteration of Juggling Suns was called Solar Circus. Don't recall which came first.

Def heard of Splintered Sunlight in my area too.

My brother is in the longest running one in the Tampa Bay Area, I think there are two others. They're called Uncle John's Band and they have probably had over 20 different members through the years and he's been the one constant. They have been together for over 13 years and played more than 800 shows. They play a regular Thursday night gig at one of the coolest venues in the area called Skipper's Smokehouse. I love that place.

+1 for Pearly Baker! I used to live in Dartmouth and New Bedford, MA a long time ago....they played every Tuesday for $2 at The Bullpen...a kinda scary dive that the hippies wouldn't frequent the other 6 nights if the week..
