What's the TGP verdict on Visual Sound V3 Comp66?

Did a quick search but couldn't find much relevant threads.

I'm on a search for Ross/Dyna type comps, with moderate coloration.
Interested in the VS Comp66 (well actually the Route66 for the overdrive bonus)

How does it compare to, say a Keeley 2-knob or a MXR Custom Comp, which are both regarded highly here from what I've read.

I'm thinking the Comp66 could be better, since it has tone and clean blend which can make it more transparent (like the optical types ie Diamond maybe?) if you wanted it to.

I suggest just getting the RT66 V3...the OD CH is great and the Comp CH has additional features over the Comp66...Mainly the Clean Blend...totally worth it for that alone...

It's a great comp...you can get a really transparent sound with the EQ off...you can get the ROSS style with the EQ engaged...

You can get one used around $125 or so and could resell it if you don't dig it and not really lose any $...

I have the R66 V3. One of my faves.
I like the comp side especially with the clean blend.
The OD side i use as my main low gain drive and to push the pedals.
Longest pedal I've kept on my board for quite some time.
I've also owned the V2 which is good but the V3 is much better.

Off topic, but I heard the drive on R66 V3 is a lot different than V2 which used to be a TS clone.

How did it change?
