I like all positions!
Neck followed by Neck/Mid
1 & 5
Neck definitely. Hendrix all the way!
dont really have one.. i think they all have a purpose... i dont seem to use the bridge alone or the middle very much though.. although i should..
Neck, followed by neck/middle and bridge/middle.
My favorite position for my G&L Legacy is the neck position; however lately I've been playing it in the 2 position.
N/M is my go to spot.
i have a three way...i like the neck
1 thru 4 (or Neck down, until you hit the bridge). I will most likely drop a bucker in my Fender MIA strat and most likely move the tone control on my Fender Custom Shop '56 Strat (assuming that it has not been done already, it's not here yet). The bridge position on the strat is the only weak link imho.
Modified...Neck and bridge.
since the question is which of all, I guess neck. But they all have their uses!
when playing alone - 5,4,2 are so much fun
with a band - 1,5 get the most use with 2,3 getting slightly less. depends on the song. 4 never sees the light of day in my band
Since I put Fralin Vintage Hots in the neck/mid and a Fralin SP43 in the bridge, I like and use all positions except when I have to deal with a lot of 60hz buzz, then I prefer the mid/bridge to the mid/neck for about 60%.
Yeah, I had a Fralin SP43 in the bridge of my strat for a while. Nice fat sound. There are some great spanky and shimmery sounds available if you get the right pickup in the bridge position. I have a Kinman SCn, and I'm lovin' it.
In regards to 1-5 positions, I always get so confused because I have heard people on this board use the numbers both ways. I've always assumed that 1 was the bridge.
2...............90% of the time.
