Thinking of buying one for gigging (I've done a couple of pickup gigs and felt my single 12" minibus wasn't cutting it).

I'd really like one with one straight baffle and one tilted, that I can set vertically with my amp head on top. Who makes the killer-est speaker cabs?

At my age, it’s the one I can pick up and carry.

My fav was made by Ben Fargen's custom shop. Oval hole in the back, loaded with (2) 12" Red Fangs and wired to 4 ohms.

I like me some Red Fang action. Used to have an oversize 1x12" from Mojo with a Red Fang in it that just rocked the house.

My head is a 50 watter, so I like the 60 watt rating. And, of course, the look. I should find a place where I can try one of these. Maybe Bananas At Large has one.

I really like the Avatar offerings. I have two G212T traditional cabs. Now they are making a traditional 2x12 diagonal cab as well.

Another vote for Avatar cabs. They sound amazing, and huge!
Their 2x12 Traditional with a g12h30/v30 is an absolute monster.

My all time favorite is my Kerry Wright diagonal cab. Just a great cab.

My favorite less expensive/portable cab is the THD. Those sound really good and are light and easy to move.

Mather builds a hell of a cab. I'm sure the 2X12 is great. I have a Mather 1X12 and a 2X10 and the build quality is flawless and the sound is huge.

    Honorable mention:
    Two Rock
    Hard Truckers

Ditto - great cabs, nice price & choice of speakers. Mine is loaded with 2x12 Greenbacks & sounds amazing with any head/amp I use.

    Dr. Z, Z-Best 2x12 is an awesome 2x12. It's a bit of a beast weight wise though.
The THD 2x12 is also a great sounding cabinet, and a little easier on the back than the Dr. Z.
That said I had Peter Mather (Mather cabs) build me a Marshall 1966A (diagonal 2x12) clone that sounds killer! Peter makes great cabinets in many different styles.

If you like the the diagonal mounted slanted cab like the Marshall, but don't want to pay $900 and put your own speakers in it, I used to use a gabkits cab for years. They closed down, but the guy that did those is now making them for stagecraftgear. Check out their offerings. I'm fond of the Black Jacks and they can fit a full size head on there. Oh, and you can customize them.

For me it’s either the Matchless ESD for an openback cab or the Bogner Oversized for a closedback.

Beat me to it. This ^^ exactly. One other I'd mention is the Glaswerks or Two Rock for a vertical Dumble style 2x12. Those are specialized, though.

I've become a big fan of the Orange PPC212 cabs... they're not exactly small, or light however.

I built myself a cab very much like a Marshal 1936. Loaded with a pair I'm Scumbacks...Love it!
