I hunted this one down for seventeen years. First saw it when it came into the shop in NC in 1985...

    Then there are these:

    A Little James Honeyman-Scott?

    Some KK Downing?

A Standard that I had them custom paint for me

Another custom-ordered Standard-the last sparkle finish they did at the factory:

    Complete weirdness, but kinda cool:

One of Elliot Easton's Phantoms. I will continue to resist the urge to string it righty and play it.

Is that gold top a regular Monaco or a Super Pro w/ ebony board and crown inlays?

This used to be mine. It's a Hamer Rick Nielsen signature model, a copy of the rare Gibson Futura.

    It's fellow TGPer BadgerDave's, but I believe it's a maple-topped Monaco with stoptail.

Chaparral with the upside down nike inlays. I had one in the 80s and would love to get one again.

This one. Sold my bike in 84 and bought this. And played the snot out of it. Recently put the original PU back in and retired it.
    Thanks Glenn

I love my 93 special fm but my favorite would be an early standard with a cherry sunburst.

I still love the snot out of my Special Korina - it was one of the Willcutt special orders.

I have a USA Chapparel from the late 80's that's been my go to studio and stage guitar. It can hold it's own against any boutique ssh guitar out there. Ugly, worn and with rusted parts. The ultimate relic, except this one has a couple of decades of use.

I plan on picking up a few more Hamer's while they are undervalued. Since they are closing shop, the time is right before people catch on.

    Awesome guitars........

Mine would be the Hamer Monoco Super Pro. Just a great guitar. Great tone. Great playability. And gorgeous. At one time I owned two of them. They've appreciated in value too. Used to be able to find mint examples for about $1700 but now I rarely see them used for less than $2200.

Most of those have moved along, but I still have a dozen or two Hamers (three Standards still). GREAT guitars.

There's a cool book on Hamer Guitars hitting the streets in a couple of months...;)
