It kinda skirts the line of overdrive/distortion but I really like the Barber Direct Drive. Also a big fan of the Way Huge Fat Sandwich.

My late 80's Boss MZ-2, or for heavy stuff my MXR fullbore. Also Idk if it counts but my os-2 is a staple of my board as well even though it's technically both od and dist depending on how you blend it

Vox Satchurator. It's kinda big but in front of my Purple Plexi, it delivers a pretty good Satch tone.

The original Suhr Riot. I don't view the MXR Distortion lll an overdrive though, so I'll include that equally likeable.

Walrus Iron Horse, version 1. So phat, and amazing into my Vox AC15.

Tell me more. Plimsoul is one of those pedals that I've had to talk myself out of buying several times.

My Archer with the level at unity, the treble boost down and the gain cranked. Sounds smoother than my DS-1.

Plimsoul and Secret Freq are the only two pedals I’ve found that give a thick midrange medium gain tone on the bridge pickup of my strats, that in the past I only got with my old 80’s blackface rat. I needed to replace the rat because it’s just so fragile and unreliable from age. I’ve tried a few medium to high gain pedals and most I just can’t dial out a horrible hi mid harshness that makes my bridge pickup sound like a cat raking it’s claws across a corrugated iron roof. That includes the current MIC rat, which sounds great on the neck pup, but ‘orrible on the bridge.
I don’t get that with either the Plimsoul or SF.
I spend 70% of my time split between the bridge and neck, so a pedal that works with a strats bridge is pretty important to me.
I’ve got also got a Rocket Dude on the way which I’m hoping will work also, should have it before weeks end. We’ll see if it can keep up with Fulltone pedals!

ZVEX Distortron made me very happy. I tried a ton of disto's and I nearly gave up ... until the Distortron.
