    So... ummm.... yeah

I have been wanting a Rosewood Neck, Mint Green Pickguard, Olympic White Strat RI, and BAM there it was - a CIJ @ GC for $500.

Well, I did want it BUT I had also decided to put a hold on gear purchases, to focus on the stuff I like best. Then it happened - heavy drama, and I am really just not in my groove anymore.

Moving along.... I have 2 54 RI's, so when I saw this 62 RI hmmm well

BAD MOOD + GAS = Layaway til Aug 2 police hold clears... lol

I wonder if this is good vibe or not. Last time I bought a "comfort purchase" I got a Music Man Silhouette Special, that got stolen - hmmmm karma? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

This time it's different. I have to similar guitars, I can sell one 54 RI and now I will have a 62 RI to fill the gap. COMFORT PURCHASE - Good move or not? Why is it buying a new guitar is my band-aid for bad mood? Played really well, had old strings on it. The bridge is a little thin sounding. Planning to fund it by selling one of the 54's.

    UUUUGGGGGH

Retail therapy, its a beautiful thing. Playing out daily at every shopping mall around. congrats on the new fiddle. I too have been jonesing for a Oly/Rosewood strat. Don't need one as I have 2 other strats and a Tele, but want one just the same.

Dumb bunny here...what does CIJ mean? MIM means Made In Mexico. CIJ must mean C-something In Japan?

Oh, I do this too. I once went out for a pint of milk and came back with a Telecaster. Forgot the damn milk too. Ho hum.

Although it does explain how come I have 16 guitars ...

CIJ means wood cut somewhere else(Korea) and built in Japan. MIJ means just that.

73, I'd be interested in one of your '54ri if you wind up selling.

Sounds like I do have others in common here. So do you think I should keep the NEW guitar when it comes due? I am so split because I think I would diversify my small herd with a 62-style RI. It is a decent idea.

Problem is, it still is kinda a comfort thing. Retail therapy to cure some unhappiness from turmoil.

    Stormin, I'll send you pics.

Gear can get you out of a funk almost all the time...however it is a costly cure!

Either way sounds like a cool guitar and thats a great price...plus everybody needs more Strats!

    CHRISTIAN!!!!! SUP!!!!

I was gonna call you, man!

Yeah, all this drama had me broken up, but I have to admit the new guitar has me amped the more I fantasize about me with worn in Olympic White and Mint Green!!!!!

Problem is, my 54 Strat Ri has been my gig workhorse and on everything from Rock to Country since 2003 or something. It's a CIJ Custom Color - Blonde, with a Soft V that is not as baseball bat as most. I love it, rare find, but oh well something might have to go. It's the one I am using in these videos

(Sorry, I am so bad with photobucket, Youtube is so much easier)
