Is Wheeler Walker, Jr. the end of bro country? Once something has been parodied is it over? Do you agree with his statement that Sturgill Simpson is a secret Government agent? Be warned if you check out his stuff on youtube... it is NSFW.

Simple people listen to simple music. Ben Hoffman is making a couple of bucks. Good for him.

I love his schtick. Absolutely hilarious...and his music is surprisingly catchy and well done. The people he calls out absolutely deserve it, so that is also a plus.

That's not a bro-country parody, doesn't sound anything like it.
    He's good though.

Does nothing for me. Not funny to me. but then again I'm not a big musical satire guy. I do like old unknown Hinson, though.

He came here to a small venue last year.... didn't even know it until a week after. I would've went.

    I'd love to see him!

I could listen to 21 chart toppers(the one where he sings over karaoke tracks) all day. I'd feel like an idiot afterward, but I could.

I gave his music a listen... don't think it will become part of my steady rotation at all. The players are definitely awesome and it sounds good, but it's really over the top. He's pretty interesting to listen to in interviews though and definitely not afraid to hold back. I wonder if it would help his shtick if he was a little more "serious" with the music.

.... and I still don't think Sturgill Simpson is a Government agent. :idea

This album is awesome. Me and a couple friends went to the release show here in town...and it was interesting. Crowd had a lot of suits in it because it was CRS week, and they had gotten an invite from Wheeler's agency. So they had no idea what he was. The band was slaying it, especially his guitar player/steel player. It was fun to watch him try to sing backup vocals with Wheeler and not laugh most of the time.

Cobb truly did do a great job with this album. The music and songs are great, but it is too NSFW for me to listen to anywhere but in my headphones. My mom is a classic country fan, so I showed her "F*** You B****" and she liked it except for the part about the dog. :D
