I noticed something the other day watching YouTube. Woodstock 1969, when the crowd cheered it was mostly clapping and whistling. Same at Isle of Wight. Very classy and reverent.

Fast toward to today and the majority of the crowd go "Wooooooo!" Come to think of it now at work when someone gets an award or something, the audience goes "Woooo Hoooo".

So the question is, what he heck happened to audiences? What was the thing that began the "Wooooooooooooo!"?

Tough to clap with one hand holding your phone.

In the same way the wheel was invented, no one can pinpoint exactly the place or the person, it just all sort of happened. The world collectively opened their mouth and realized that during their intense clapping and whistling of appreciation, the human body is also capable of making other word like sounds. And thus.... the woooooo was born from our collective food input holes.

Why would any band be upset because people were going "WOO HOO WOO", etc etc.?

The more love shown the better, to me at least.

My favorite is the old Led Zeppelin tapes where the audience is sitting through the whole show, very well behaved (no doubt stoned into submission).
