I wouldn't waste my time with CL. I think it was better back in the day, but now I honestly feel like it's a waste of time, and I really don't have an interest in having to meet up face to face with someone.

I like how you tell people how to handle change and disappointment by giving an example of a deal gone well ;)

Did the OP ever give an example of "near violent" demands?

I planned to do other things just in case. I find if I do that, I don’t get so wound up and disappointed when things don’t go right.

What is near violent? Menacing? How does one menace in a purchase negotiation in email? ... “A few people have refused my offers - they are no longer here... I think you know what that means. So do the right thing for you and your family...”

That's great! In similar fashion, I was offered a used tent. That's what all the kids want these days, used tents.

A guy at work came in one morning holding a coffee cup, obviously not a new one. He asked me, "what do you think of my new cup, I bought it yesterday at a garage sale? "

He told me they were asking 25 cents, he haggled and got it for 5 cents.

He was so proud , he had to boast about it to me.

Here for now, Europe when I die. Am I dead yet?

That's how our GC works as well.
I know I'm losing money, but I don't expect to make back nearly what I paid for anything new, and only close to the price if I bought used.

However, I use my gear in our band, so I am making back more then what I paid for it new or used. There will always be a trade off. ymmv :)

Johnny didn't take my offer for his Les Paul and now he sleeps with the fishes.

(I traded him a bedside aquarium for his Carbon Copy)

Oh, ok I missed that. It seems like he likes mutual masturbation a lot. I'm not judging, mind you.....

There is no need to reply when it's stated they will be ignored. I definitely won't deal with someone who can't follow instructions.

I Know. “I’ll give you the privilege of buying my used gear for the same price as you can get new, but don’t you dare offer me 10% lower”

Sellers are as bad as buyers in my experience. The positive is that if you want to move gear, just put it on reverb 5-10% below everyone’s inflated price, and you’ll usually sell your gear.

I sold a guitar for about $150.00 less than everyone else on Reverb and it was amusing to see everyone lower their prices in response.
