I am sure there are folks of a certain age who think he's just an old man yelling at clouds...

I've deserved every ding and suspension I've received. No big regrets, but lesson learned!

If you don't like the ads pony up the TGP Supporter fee. I don't understand people who think they have the right to criticize a web site they do not pay to use.

suspension is not a big deal the internet is huge plenty of other places to visit. However I am a nice guy, I don't get suspended, banned and that sort of thing so it kind of bothered me.

It's just an internet forum that I waste time on I can take it or leave it

It's a rarity with me, 4 infractions (i think) in my history here and only one suspension. Mostly deserved but if i question one and think it's unfair, a warning or deleted posts, it cools my ardor for participation here and i just take a vacation. It isn't wise to be posting when that anger is in the back of my mind.

I learned just last night, that when my mom's father, my grandfather, was on the ship from Spain traveling to Kauai in about 1900, as a conscripted worker, he got into some minor trouble, apparently over the attention and affections of my future grandmother, as a result he was placed under arrest and confined.
Everyone can have a problem at sometime or another.

I've never reported a post or been suspended, the latter because I tend to steer clear of some of the more obviously dangerous threads in terms of content. That said, some of the stuff that gets reported does sometimes surprise me. It would be cool if more people could just let things go rather than stew on things.

I got a warning last month after posting a David Lee Roth video, i was home after sinus surgery bored & feeling lousey. I didn't understand the warning & PM'd the Mod.
He said it was an auto computer response & took it back.
TGP is a great place to talk technical about gear but other than that we really don't have much freedom to venture out of those parameters.
However the advantage of a tightly moderated forum is it keeps the "free for all mob mentality" in check and im cool with that.

The "Report" and "Ignore" functions are tools of the weak.

I think so. The day I need the ignore function or the mods to make my experience here bearable is the day I leave (because I'll know I'm taking it too seriously and/or my skin is too thin).

The politics rule is amusing in how its application has changed behavior - see any thread with a mention of Colbert, it’s like some people have carefully planned out how far they can push the line so that any response would be over it.

Funny you should mention. I just got back from my bus ride to Club Mod late last night and this is my first—and might be my last—post. I got tire tracks all over me.

Or just ignore them manually or don't tear into them? If you are so worked up you need to tear into someone, you are probably taking this board too seriously.
