Any ideas? Always searching ebay etc, but not much around?
There's a v.2 in the emporium. Why do you want a v.1?
Ebay. They pop up every now and then.
Yeah, just noticed one went for $650 recently. Guess I'll keep looking
they are awesome pedals.
the Provibe in the CC1 is the best vibe clone I have ever used. It has a "3-D" kind of sound to my ears, where many clones just have more just amplitude modulation.
mine is one of the first five
inside pic -- dig the thimble. it's the "magic secret" to why dave's vibe sounds so good. mine is a vintage thimble from the 1930s, made out of unobtanium....
heheheheh.....but seriously -- the thimble is the reflector shield for the photocells
Yes, there have been a few of them on Ebay in the last couple of months. Prototypes and production models. Just be patient and don't expect to spend less that $650 or so.
There's one on Ebay right NOW for $675..
Why did Dave stop making these in the first place? Bring back the Captian Coconut!
Dave said something along the lines of It cost almost as much to make as he was selling them for and he didn't want to go up on the price,PLUS his supply of necessary components was drying up and the cases were expensive.I am not quoting Dave just telling it as I remember...I suggested he make a batch of 5 or10 once a year and sell them on ebay for some Christmas/Tax money
I believe he ran out of enclosures as well. I heard him say at one point that when he releases a product, he orders all the enclosures at one time for as many as he plans to make/expects to sell. He might have run out and didn't want to invest the cash in another 1000 units.
I had the CC1. The Vibe was awesome, but the fuzz left me flat. I never used the octave. I believe the CC2 improved on the design of the fuzz.
