It seems that not that long ago there would regularly be NGD threads for a spectacular small builder guitar that just landed at some lucky guy's house.

Names like Heatley, Chaffin, Briggs, Huber, Myka, Schroeder, Thorn, Kauer, Baker, DeTemple...

    What happened?

I got an Astrocaster on Friday but I don't like to say NGD until I've had time to play it and get to know it. That said, it is AWESOME.

From 2014-2017 I think I did 5 NGDs, it was time for me to stop hogging the spotlight :p

I've had four in the past year. If you'd like to send over some funds I'll happily NGD the **** outta this place every week! ;)

I had one (Build thread/NGD) last year. It broke my bank account! But I have two guitars in the works with Saul Koll right now. So later this year there should be another NDG x 2 from me.

I have had a few boutique NGD’s I the past year, but I just don’t have the time or patience to take all kinds of pictures and post them. I’d rather spend my time playing the guitars.

I have two on the way and a 3rd in the planning stages. The two on the way are a bit behind schedule.

You got to test out the relationship and see whether is it TGP status upgrade worthy or not ; ) the last thing u want is to have a NGD post followed by a WTS/WTT in a coupla of months...

The names builders have been giving their guitars have become so ridiculous, people are too embarrassed to post them.

Agreed. Seems like more inquiries than showing off these days. Or complaining about wait times.

A lot of the guys who you used post heavily are gone for one reason or another sadly.....

Got my Huber Krautster last month. After tweaking the setup pretty specifically it opened up into a serious machine. Then pulled out a SG classic to sit in with the headliner on Saturday and realized how rad it was. I guess ALL the guitars are rad
    Not just the boutiqueries

Crazy how often that happens. It's happened to me with amps a few times.

Two in the queue. BUT, much more interested in cutting out part of the existing herd than adding new gear.

I had mine already. Kind of on a one in, one out arrangement now. Recently sold one (boutique) and have one incoming (PRS).
