Where did this reverb.com explode from - how many marriages has it cost?

Wait seriously... so how do I hunt trolls? I'm not going to accomplish anything tomorrow anywhere near productive or sleep at all tonight - but I need to know.

Alright... someone please fill me in using a quick manner in this thread that doesn't lead to 15 people sarcastically linking me to 15 pages of other people talking about it that I won't read.

More competition for the sellers with an additional nationwide, even worldwide market past Ebay and Craigslist (although CL shopping thousands of miles away has always seemed risky to me). You have more possible sources. The unknown custom builder "high end boutique Strat assembled by me for bargain price of $900" seems a lot less special when you have possible sources beyond TGP itself...

I see your point, but to the "high-end boutique..." it doesn't matter if it's TGP, or reverb.com - you always have to know who is truly special. I owned a K-Line before they were dated, I owned a true Danocaster, I owned an RS Guitarworks T - not that those are the only special builders; I can't even remember all of them - but that's TGP I remember and if it got hella good reviews - I at least bought one to play them.

I mean a lot of people love Nash, but really? It's all about the "soul" man. (Sorry Nash dude)

And I remember only getting rid of that LPB K-Line in an amazing trade for a drip edge Vibrolux Reverb which I still miss both of - and only flipped the Dano and RS because they were both neck heavy (GOD I HATE THAT). Amazing guitars though. All of them.

Build yourself a nice hunting blind in the upper reaches of the Pub and wait. They will show themselves.

    Tube amps or digital modelers?

You have to choose a side now. (even if you own both)

Psshhhhh... Tube Amps... really? What has this become - Harmony Central? Wait, does that still exist? Am I going to get an infraction for bringing them up?

OH MY GOD - YOU CAN PAY WITH CREDIT CARDS.

too bad they took all mine away... probably a good thing though - reverb.com is the reason that I don't believe in having credit cards anymore.

I've never heard of those flowers, but the name sounds pretty cool.

Reverb.com came from Chicago Music Exchange.

I've got a couple of their dirt cheap clip-on tuners, a red seat-belt strap, and a 20' instrument cable from them.

Oh wait, I also bought a Electro-Harmonix Pitch Fork from there today as well, but it's actually coming from Pennsylvania.

I am guilty all the same. I've spent countless hours in my armchair talking/typing about gear & learning about gear vs. playing the stuff I have. It's a curse!

Welcome back! I took about 4 or so years off from TGP. Came back sometime last year when I got the itch for a new amp. Now I have a new amp and a whole pedalboard!

You need to upgrade your connector cables now.

PeenutGuy isn't around much anymore. He chimes in occasionally to say hello, usually in a "where'd PeenutGuy go?" Thread.
He said something about having a life outside of TGP :dunno
    Crazy talk I think

At least I got a few "FIRST"s in though

Except that the first has gotten much better (being new) and the other has gotten much worse in the last 5 years.

I currently have items listed on Reverb, and Ebay. The number of people viewing my items on Reverb compared to Ebay is just insane! It's almost like no one is even bothering going to Ebay anymore! The difference in listing statistics is insane. There may be a learning curve for Reverb in terms of conflict resolution, but their overall format is fantastic!
