Gregg Levy is a good guy
KCA and TubeStore before.
I live close by, so I hit up Lord Valve. He's great.
Same here! They ship the same day from TN.
Great service, prices, and low shipping.
Dougstubes is the one that provided me with the best matched, sounding and reliable tubes.
I got several matched sets from TAD that were off by 20% and more!
I've had good experience with KCA, Doug's, Triode, Eurotubes and Brent Jesse. Brent Jesse found me a reasonably priced used Sylvania 6L6 STR that matched close enough to an old one I found at home that I'd pulled years ago. That was nice.
Order the most from Tube Depot.
ARS Van nuys calif. JJs, china preamp tube and JJ EL84s
I think I've dealt with just about everyone mentioned on here, and all good experiences.
I especially like dealing with Gregg, though-he is a fellow Jerseyan and talks about tube complements for an amp like a gourmet chef-"I'd follow up x-tube with y-tube to really bring out the low end,", etc, and man does he know amp circuits and what works best.
His recommendations have never failed to blow me away when I install them and fire up an amp.
Tube Depot for new production. KCA for NOS.
+1 for Doug.
For new tubes, I've gotten good value and service from Antique Electronic Supply (tubesandmore.com). They also have a great selection of competitively priced amps parts, everything from tolex to transformers.
Usually from either the TheTubeStore or KCA, depending on what I need.
KCA for NOS. Doug for new...
I just bought a couple NOS RFT ECC83s on Ebay...from Thailand.
Wish me luck.
Those are the main three in my own case.
