Where is a good place to buy and try pedals in N.Y.C ?
Main Drag Music in Brooklyn
Agree with the above, plus 30th st. Guitars.
30th street guitars has a great selection, 234 W 27th St
Ludlow has just about anything you could think of. Their selection is probably 3 to 4 times the size of what main drag has. Both are great though.
I find it kind of ironic that 30th Street Guitars have an address on 27th street.
Ludlow - great selection, and they have a separate booth where you can crank it up to try it out.
They moved from 30th to 27th recently.
Ludlow for sure. Cases and cases of great stuff.
a few good places mentioned in manhattan above...
but my favorite is Pedal Geek out in Queens, (www.pedalgeek.com), really on the border of Queens/Nassau on Jericho turnpike. Very small one man shop that has IMO some of the largest selections in the 5 boros of boutique pedals/amps/guitars, also very good customer service too.
Ludlow. Great selection, great guys. Good eats when you're done trying and buying pedals around the shop.
Not sure their pedal collection but glad to have seen the famous Manny's Music when staying in NYC. Bought a guitar there, as so many of my heros did.
But Manny's is no longer there. In fact, I think the whole Musician's Row is gone now.
Yep. I think Rudys was the last one left and even they moved last year
New boutique pedals: Ludlow
Used collectible pedals: Southside Guitars
Rudy's Music in Soho, the basement has an array of good pedals including Spaceman and other boutique names. People are so in awe with the main floor and that Ridy is always around wanting to jam with customers that they don't realize there is the basement level.
As a New York City citizen and avowed pedal enthusiast, no place beats Sam Ash on 34th between 8th and 9th Ave.
Big selection and staff always totally willing to let you try out anything.
+1 on Ludlow- they have cases of pedals
