Every amp should have a 5 and .5w mode. If Peavey could do it with their mini heads years ago, why isn't that the norm now? There are a lot of new products made for getting tubes cooking at low volume levels —attenuators and load boxes—and a lot of the vast pedal distortion/overdrive market is there for the same purpose. Back in the 80s, if you were a serious guitar player, you had 100+ watts. Now, people want 10-20 watts, plus a bedroom/apartment option.
.5 watt amp settings would steal market from the katana, thr10, SS power amp pedals, modelers, and drive pedals.
Here's the whole new Mooer 2018 line:
Not sure if anyones covered this, but the new EHX Op-Amp Big Muff Reissue is a super good fuzz... lets say it was a blank box... I would still think its a really good fuzz.... especially for $80 bucks... I've owned $300 fuzz boxes and sold some off... this thing cant be beat if youre a fuzz head like me... I was actually surprised by it.
I could be way off, but I am going to guess at least $6k, which would be way too much in my opinion.
A 12 inch speaker combo version of the Supro Comet would be really awesome. That thing sounds great with 12 inch greenbacks.
I wish Korg/Vox never brought out that awful Starstream the other year. They should be ashamed, given the heritage of the 1960s namesake. Now, if Korg could start making reissues of Italian made 1960s Vox guitars...
Probably right, unless they’re making it to fit into the CE range (since it seems to have a maple neck and I would assume it’s a bolt-on) in which case it could be *relatively* affordable.
Okay so here’s some I’ve had in my head for a bit:
Suhr: Eclipse but voiced to PT100 ch2/3 Tone. Black with silver like the PT100 limited run.
Chase Bliss: imagine pog2 options in this size with midi presets. I know he’s analog heart and all but come on he’s the perfect candidate for this.
EHX: Rams Head (obligatory), Orchestra9(strings) Ambient9 (massive Sigur Ros esque, stereo effects)
Keeley: Kitchen Sink (small size 4K format, the random effects that you need on occasion, wah, filter, Reverse, bitcrush
Fender: Ryan Adams Strat (fingers crossed)
Rockett: reworked Rat
JHS: James Duke (please please please)
Strymon: new delay! I really don’t care what, surprise me
OriginFX: Cali23a! La2a/la3a in the same format as the Cali compact deluxe
I’ll add more as I remember
Because not everyone wants that and every small amp doesn't sound good, anyway. Trying to make every amp of another wattage be switchable to that wattage adds parts and cost. There are plenty of attenuator+amp products out there. I am perfectly happy using my bigger amps with my Power Station.
Oh and PLEASE GOD GIVE US THE BOSS DC2W
When I say "every amp" I'm not being literal. But just for the sake of argument/discussion, the Peavey Classic 20mh is $450. How much could the parts cost? The Boss Katanas have this feature, and they're solid state and should need it less. Just saying it would open the market tremendously. When I was looking for an amp last year, I didn't even consider anything that didn't go down to 5w and below. Unless it hurts tone at full power, what's the harm? I don't want to have to pay a grand for an amp and then another $300 for an attenuator to sit on top of it.... Not everyone wants it. Not everyone has to use it. Just sayin.
I'm being equally non-literal when I suggest that EVERY product should have a supplementary iPad interface/editor. Amps, pedals, modelers, guitars themselves, cars, microwaves....
Sounds good. If I hadn't just seen the JHS Muffuletta with its various modes, I'd be into it, too.
Any chance PRS will release an SE version of the Double Eagle.
Playing the high end, it's a sweet guitar, but I don't know if any guitar is worth that much coin.
I'm actually digging the new Gibson RD. Anyone know anything about those "GEM active pickups?"
I hope maxon would come up with analog delays with modulation knob.
