Every amp should have a 5 and .5w mode. If Peavey could do it with their mini heads years ago, why isn't that the norm now? There are a lot of new products made for getting tubes cooking at low volume levels —attenuators and load boxes—and a lot of the vast pedal distortion/overdrive market is there for the same purpose. Back in the 80s, if you were a serious guitar player, you had 100+ watts. Now, people want 10-20 watts, plus a bedroom/apartment option. .5 watt amp settings would steal market from the katana, thr10, SS power amp pedals, modelers, and drive pedals.
