    I am looking to swap out the stock Dr Z speakers in my 3x10 Super Z. I am just not diggin their tone, but I know the amp itself is just dandy (since ive played MAZ 38 SR NR's before)

    I want more body, warmth, smoother responses, and more chime definitely. logic would lead toward the Blue Pup...but i have heard things about the Silver Bell and the Ramrod's.

    can anyone chime in here with their experiece or opinions on this?

    thanks

    Fairly useless post coming your way ..

    I've tried neither the amp in question or either of the 2 speaker types.

    OK, that said I'm more interested in the RamRods and have been meaning
    to try them as an upgrade to my 14 year old Eminence 10's, I have
    in an old Holland 4x10 bassman cab

    I really like the new Red Coats so those Ramrods are probably excellent.

    You might consider the Scumnico 10s, or wait for the Cele Gold 10's;
    slated to appear, late summer. Also the Celestion vintage(?)10s.

    To add confusion to the mix, I forgot to add the Eminence Lil buddy 10"
    hempcones.

    I use and endorse,,;),, the Tonkers and Cannabis Rex(hemp) so if the
    Ramrods and Lil Buddys are anything like the Tonkers and Cannabis Rex's,
    either would be excellent tone/dollar values .

    I can't comment on the Ramrods but I have had Weber Blue Pup AlNiCos and now have both a Blue Pup ceramic and Silver Ten Ceramic. They definitely have the chime you mention and are warm and full sounding. I am completely satisfied with both of them the Silver is a bit bassier. I have one of each in a cab and can get both Marshall and VOX sounds that way. This is what I was looking for and how Ted Weber recommended I get it.

    I've got a ported Freda Cab and I will be using it with a 1 watt Stephenson Stage hog as the amp.

    Any thoughts on the Pup or Ramrod with a ported cab and/or very low wattage?
