Whats the best ABY switcher out there these days ?
I want to run two amps and I only use one overdrive pedal, two clean boosts and a tuner.
Any suggestions ? Lehle ? Switchbone V2 ? Or something else ?
Thanks !
For running two amps, I'd suggest something isolated (to stop ground loop hum) with phase switch (in case the two amps are out of phase). Having a buffer there can also be good, unless you know for sure the last pedal before the ABY will be properly buffered (with a constant low output impedance). To that end, I'd suggest the Radial Twin City ABY. Lehle also have good stuff, although they are not buffered, so it'd depend a little more on the other pedals' properties.
Sometimes I run two amps (Wet/Dry) and use Twin-City ABY for amp switching, etc. Because it works so well, I also purchased the Radial JDX Direct-Drive (for when I can't bring my amp). These both sound very good and work perfectly as described.
Radial Engineering: Highly Recommended. Top quality: build and function. Pedals may come and go, but I'm keeping these handy tools.
I'm just not sure if I need a buffered switcher like the Switchbone and Twin City with a lot of bells and whistles or if I would be okay with the non buffered type such as the Lehle Little Dual more of a straight forward switcher.
