What's the best Clean Boost pedal for adding volume to lead solos? I'm looking for something transparent that doesn't add alot of overdrive.

If I could afford it I'd get a tranny boost, it's transparent.

I have a Sparkle Drive on my board to do volume boost... I have the gain knob off and the clean knob blended for my taste. It works perfect...

I am really liking the ClinchFX EP Pre + Custom for this purpose. The EP preamp flavor at unity gain always on, footswitchable boost with gain knob.

There's a bunch of boost pedals out there. I'm using the Creation Audio MK.4.23 on one board and the other a Xotic RC Booster. Some others that I've used and liked:
• Creation Audio Mk.4.23
• Xotic RC Booster
• Keeley Katana
• Landgraff Boost
• Lizard Leg Effects Flying Dragon
• Zvex SHO
• CAE Boost
• MXR Micro Amp

+1 for the Keeley Katana

Tried 2 of these.
Loved the Creation Audio Mk 4:23
Then tried the Lizard Legs Flying Dragon.

It was when I got the latter I realised the Mk 4:23 does add a little high end/ treble response.
Not in a bad way but it did alter the tone slightly when playing clean.
I was happy with it for ages at both ends of the chain and even into the fx loop.
Still a Great boost.
The Flying Dragon was more transparent with my set up.

Both excellent clean boosts.

Another CAL MK;23 fan, the touch of extra treble is what cuts through in a live situation

KIngsley Page.
It's very clean, but the voicing can be dialed in to optimize.
And the gain, while not high, makes a real difference to help you tailor the amont of boost (saturation) to the amount of volume increase, as needed.

If you're putting this after dirt for a simple volume lift, consider the Kingsley Squire. It allows you to tailor the highs and lows.

As MethC stated, I also have dedicated my ol' Sparkle Drive as a clean boost. I use it in front of my od's, clean boost when they're off, od boost when they're on. I then also run a Dingotone HZD boost at the end of my chain, giving me 2 boost options. Works great for me.

Lots of boost with the ability to have NO drive or mild OD. EXCELLENT pedal.

I recently was looking for just this and got a Diamond Boost/eq that I'm really happy about. The mids knob is really nice to have. Sometimes the "boost" you need for a lead line isn't volume but a bit more mids....something worth considering at least.
