I'm looking to buy a COT50. I've seen Handwired burst, Black with red led, white, silver, and the current model. Is the circuit the same in all of them.
    Which one's have you heard?
    Thanks
    Matt

Just get the newest model. It sounds great and does the COT thing extremely well.

I have a handwired one with red light. VERY happy with it.

I suggest that you find yourself a good deal for a used handwired one.

The handwireds differ unit to unit.. I based the current blue LED tour pro on the acid etch models from 05.. They are exact unit to unit.. Thats the nice thing about the new technology..

I do have a hi-po COT50 RED version coming out soon sub $150 :AOK

    What about the Gold?
I have a COT50 Red, but I am seriously thinking about a Gold, so I can control the volume, gain, and tone a little bit.
Anybody got any thoughts about replacing a perfectly good COT?

I have a vintage blue purchased from Cliff and a summer Lil China purchased from Sean. I have them on two different {smallish} boards. Both are HW & have the blue lights. Just perfect little pedals, on virtually all the time. I have one before a London Fuzz and a Klon and then on another board one before a Hot Cake. I typically use them around 10 o'clock. Although, I'll roll them all over the place. I use my cots to great effect at low volume for sparkle & and high volume for girth & grind; with an AC15, AST or Mercury with single coils and most recently with P90's.

I'd like to try the red lights or something else just for sake of trying.
