My order has been up for a while and I finally have the cash to pull the trigger. Waht config should I go with? I am thinking of high gain on the right channel but then it might be cool to have high gain left and use the right channel to boost.

What configuration did you all choose and why?

I went with high gain on the red (right) side. Just felt like it would work with my style. Normal yellow, is an always on pedal for me.

I had a few of them and my favorite was high(er) gain on both sides. I never had the gain below 9 o'clock on either side (when I had a regular version) so it just adjusted the range to be more versatile, imo.

Original. But I play humbuckers, so I may not need the extra juice.

    That's a great question man....

I've got a PoT, and I ended up turning the Turbo off, and reduced the treble booster just a tad inside of it....I've got a fairly dark pup/guitar with a Parker Fly Deluxe...

My name should be coming up SOON I hope! I'm think High Gain Red side, normal yellow, and POSSIBLY the 4 jack option...

Hope whatever you choose you love! :)

There ain't no place I'd rather be
External toggle, 4 jack, and power out is a great option as well (very useful for a big board). Gain is up to your needs.

Just got mine Monday. Order regular gain both sides. No regrets.

Toggle switch, 4 jack and red high gain. I've seen someone with the a toggle on the side just like the pot with the boost/od/distortion option.

I did quite a bit of research when I was up on the list about a year and a half ago. Most folks favored regular gain both sides, so that's what I did. I'm super happy with my decision. Never have desired more, even with my Strat it's still plenty of gain (and it's been my only dirt pedal as long as I've had it). So I vote regular gain and if I had to do it over, I'd say add four jacks.

All that said, such a good pedal! You'll be glad with whatever you get. Enjoy it!

I went with higher gain on the red side and I'm still happy with that decision. That way I sort of get the best of both worlds, with one side normal and one side higher gain.

Stock...my setup does not play well with most higher gain pedals...

The V4 KOT has enough options with the dipswitches and or having both sides on that I do not need more gain...
