Good morning. So I’ve been playing a Rangemaster style treble booster into an ac30 for a while now and I’m super into the sound. Once in a while I like to explore new sounds, and I’ve never tried a plexi type pedal. I’ve looked at all the miab threads and there’s tons of suggestions but not too much info on how they stack with a treble booster since mine will always be on. So I would imagine I should start with one that does the low gain sounds good since I’m gonna be boosting it.
I’m debating the la grange since I read it does the low gain sound well. But I figured I’d ask you guys first before I try one, I’m not a pedal flipper and I like to start with a good one and stick with it. Also not opposed to upper end boutique prices but it’s gotta be good.
    All suggestions appreciated, thanks.

I like my Box of Rock with a BYOC germanium boost.

The Greer Little Samson was a nice sounding Plexi-ish MiaB that stacked well when I had it a couple years ago.

I can vouch for the DLS MKIII - works very well with treble boosters, especially in super bass mode.

Awesome thanks for the suggestions, I’m gonna shoot for the dls. I’ve read some people complain that it’s too bassy so that could be a good thing with a treble booster.

    I have one, great pedal.

Leave the back off for about a week until you settle on your internal presence setting.

so are the classic marshal it emulates. Run it with the bass at 2 (out of 10) or less, just like the big boys.

^^^ Boom! Nailed it on the first post. Nice work TGP. Lol.

I use the Zvex Distortron instead of the BoR but yes, this is absolutely a match made in Rock heaven. IME with MIABs, Distortron takes a Treble Booster as good or better than any I’ve tried.

Also, the BYOC Ge Boost is crazy underrated. Phenomenal TB.

Use Bass 2, Treble and Mid almost cranked as a starting point.
